Explore the countryside on the Katschberghöhe on winter walks, such as into the charming, scenic Gontal Valley, up to the Gamskogelhütte or on the Katschberg winter hiking path with wonderful views over Carinthia.

Explore the Pöllatal conservation area on the 6 km winter hiking path into the Pölla Valley, or on cross-country skis, and stop off at the Schoberblickhütte in the Pöllatal for refreshment.
Cross-country skiing in Katschberg
Nordic sports fans and cross-country skiers are in their element not only in the Pölla Valley, but also on the 9 km high altitude cross-country ski trail and the comprehensive network of classic and skating trails in Lungau, simply waiting to be discovered.

Into the Gontal nature conservation area with 2 horse power taking you to the Pritzhütte in Katschberg. Wonderful for couples or for the whole family.
From the Gamskogelhütte, race down into the valley on a toboggan
Either by day or at night, tobogganing from the Gamskogelhütte is always great fun and makes a great atmosphere.
It takes about 45 min to walk from the Alpenhaus Katschberg.1640 up to the hut, then you head back down into the valley on the 1.5 km toboggan run. Every Tuesday and Saturday the run is lit for night tobogganing.
